Informative Sector

Within the organization, the informative sector is responsible for sharing information through writing-based mediums; whether that be articles, blogs, poems, and so on! As a team and individually, you will be given opportunities to craft written pieces, based on topics agreed upon collectively and any negotiated! This can include a feature on a prolific historic figure; a factual, statistic-based report; or even an abstract symbolic composition! We will strive to create an inclusive and integrative environment, and are always welcoming any new ideas, opinions, or perspectives! At Equala, to inform is to influence.

In 2015, the world came together to craft a vision for change; a declaration for transformation; and the common goal for all nations to pursue sustainable development as the scope for all advancement; for the present and for the generations to come. A framework for 15 years, 17 Sustainable Development Goals were formulated, each with sub targets. But now, 7 years later, where do we stand? A look into SDG 5 - Gender Inequality - may illustrate a certain picture. The empowerment of all women is what SDG 5 endeavours to achieve, yet COVID-19, the climate crisis, and economic and social instability has changed the direction that progress had adopted; no longer does it march forward, for it is now moving backwards. An objective in 2015 today remains a mere vision - as the UN describes, an “unrealised goal.”
